Video of Apple event to celebrate Steve Jobs
Hi everyone,
Apple has made available a video stream of the event held for Apple employees to celebrate the life of Steve Jobs. This event was originally to be internal only, and Apple closed all of their retail locations around the world so that all Apple employees could participate. The video stream was recently adding allowing anyone to see the event.

iOS 4.1 is now available
The latest version of the iPod touch is now available in Apple stores.
The latest version of the iPhone / iPod touch operating system, iOS 4.1, is now available (through iTunes) for iPhone and iPod touch, except for the oldest hardware generation of each. To update your device to the latest version of the OS, click on "Update" in iTunes. (iTunes may tell you that you already have the latest software. But if they're not reporting that you have version 4.1, you don't really have the latest.)
bug fixes (partial list):
Users of the iPhone 3G will find this version of iOS is much faster.
Users of the iPhone 4 should no longer have trouble with glitches (due to the proximity sensor) while making telephone calls.
Certain security loopholes are eliminated.
new features (partial list):
Users of all hardware newer than the iPhone 3G will find that certain games now use the Apple "Game Center" social network. (This is similar to the OpenFeint social network for gaming – hosting leader boards, etc.)
Users of the iPhone 4 will be able to take High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos, automatically correcting exposure in parts of the picture which would otherwise be too bright or dark.

KAUG Meeting Moved to September 16th
As I mentioned a week ago, several members of the Kokomo Apple Users Group (KAUG) will be unable to attend on our regular meeting day this month (Thursday, September 9), because of a conflict with a large Kokomo Tea Party . Based on the reaction of other members, KAUG will meet one week later than usual this month, on Thursday, September 16, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, at Inventrek.
The main topic at the meeting will be announced next weekend. If someone would like to volunteer to give the main presentation, he can choose the topic. Otherwise, we'll discuss Apple's announcements at their September 1 "event". As I mentioned after the event, Apple announced new iPod models (available this week), a new version of iTunes (available last Wednesday), and a new version of the "Apple TV" interface (available at the end of September). They also announced two new versions of iOS – one available the same day as the new iPod touch, and one available in November.
If anyone is particularly interested in one or more of the specific announcements listed above, please tell me, and I'll come prepared to talk about that.
See you there, Thursday of next week.

Apple Event on September 1st
Hi everyone,
Just a quick heads-up that Apple is going to have an event on Wednesday September 1st. There are lots of rumors about what will be unveiled, but the general feeling is that this will be an iPod focused event. Having said that, there are a lot of rumors about an update or new AppleTV device.
Keeps yours eyes and ears open, and have a great day!
